Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs Greens Farms Academy – Home

The KO Varsity Volleyball team lost to Greens Farms Academy 3-1 (25-20, 17-25, 19-25, 19-25) in an incredibly close game where each team was clawing for the advantage.

The first set saw the Wyverns come roaring back from an early deficit thanks to immaculate serving from Francesca Lamattina ‘25, who also produced clutch sets to KO’s hitters. KO was able to hold onto the lead thanks to stalwart defense from co-captain Allie Arcaro ‘24 in the back row and inventive offensive plays from co-captain Ava Cashman ‘24 on the outside. In the second set, Lola Peck ‘26 had spectacular serves to bring the Wyvern’s back into the contest. Peck’s offense from the service line went hand in hand with co-captain Jillian Alexander ‘24’s powerful attacks from the middle. In the third set, Alex Segal ‘25 excelled with her high serve receive passing to get the Wyvern offense started, but unfortunately GFA’s offense pushed them through the set. In the fourth set, the magic combination of Lila Klinzmann ‘27 setting and Chloe Delaire ‘27 casually disposing of the ball in the middle (by smashing it into the court on the opponent’s side) raised the team’s energy and served as a positive omen for future games. It was a battle to the end, and the Wyverns look forward to their next chance to play, against St. Luke’s on 9/20.
