Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs Williston Northampton School – Away
Varsity Volleyball
KOVB travelled to the Williston Northampton school this past Wednesday in search of its first win on the road.
In a back and forth match where KO and Williston traded games to force a 5th tie-breaking game, KO’s determination and resilience were put to the test. In the first few games of the match, inconsistent passing from KO made it difficult to run a deliberate and effective offense. Despite the challenge this raised for our setter Isa Raymond (who worked tirelessly throughout this long match!), our offensive star of the match was Sydney Smith with many outstanding front and back row kills. The momentum of this match shifted at the start of the fourth game when Isa Raymond took to the service line where she stayed until KO was up by 11 points. With that confidence boost, KO was able to stay in the lead for the rest of the match. Other key contributors were Middle Hitters Bella Leuschner and Kathryn Westrick who had some key well-timed blocks to shut down Williston’s hitters. KOVB is excited to take on Pomfret this Saturday in front of our energetic Hewett Day crowd.
