Caitlin Budzik ’21

In the team’s two opening games Budzik was key in the team opening the season with shutouts against both Porter’s (six saves) and Canterbury (five saves). She is diving and reacting even faster this season. Coach Blake shared that Budzik worked hard on her game over the summer to which shows in her skill level this season. “She works hard every day to be better than she ever was. I am so proud of her accomplishments this season and look forward to watching her continue to be successful.”

Budzik said, “I’m very excited for this season of KO field hockey. The program has grown significantly in the last few years. We have a large number of girls this year between our JV and Varsity teams. Our Varsity team, in particular, has a huge amount of potential, especially with several new freshman players who bring a lot of dedication and hard work to the team. If we can focus and work hard in practice we could have a very rewarding season.”

Most excited for this season: “The first under-the-lights game. Hoping we will have good competition and lots of fans in attendance!”

Favorite sports team: Boston Red Sox

Favorite pump-up song: One of our pre-game pump up ‘songs’ is the inspirational speech from Rocky. It has become a tradition to listen to it before every game

Favorite part about fall: Starting field hockey season because I don’t get to see my teammates as frequently during the winter and spring seasons

Favorite meal: Burrito (particularly one from Chipotle)

Favorite spot on campus: The CT lobby because it is a good place to relax and hang out with my friends
