KO Wins Three Halo Awards for Hello, Dolly!
Join us in congratulating the cast and crew of Hello, Dolly! for a wonderful evening at the Halo Awards on Friday!
Our students brought home three major honors:
Jane Morris was awarded the Dance Molinari Scholarship, which includes a full tuition waiver for professional musical theater training this summer in New York City. This marks the seventh consecutive year that KO has received this scholarship—the only monetary award given by the judges.
Molly Palmer won the prestigious Best Leading Actress award for her brilliant portrayal of Dolly Levi. The competition was incredibly tough, so you can only imagine how excited we were when Molly’s name was called!
The entire production was honored with Best Dancing, one of the most coveted awards of the night—second only to Best Musical. In fact, the announcement came just minutes before our students took the stage to perform, adding just a little extra pressure. But, as always, the students rose to the occasion and delivered a show-stopping performance. We even overheard students from other schools whisper, “Now we know why they won best dancing!”
“While we didn’t take home the Best Musical award this year (congratulations to Glastonbury),” said Performing Arts Director Kyle Reynolds, “our students have every reason to be proud. Throughout the evening, I heard from Halo judges, Palace Theater staff, and faculty from other schools who praised our students for their professionalism, kindness, and maturity. One judge even remarked, ‘I thought they were college students—their training is that strong!'”
