Middle School Student selected for Nutmeg Book Award Committee

Miles Gruber β€˜26 was recently chosen to be on the Nutmeg Book Award selection committee. The Nutmeg Book Award Selection Committee is charged with choosing what books will be nominated for the Nutmeg Book Award, the book award for Connecticut. The committee is comprised of librarians, teachers, and three students from across the state.

 

As one of the three students selected, Gruber will be tasked with reading an impressive line-up of around 200 books that are potential nominations for the award over the next year. The committee will meet several times over the course of the year to discuss the votes. β€œMiles loves to read more than almost anyone I know,” said long-time Kingswood Oxford librarian Nancy Solomon. β€œHe’s going to be perfect.”

 

The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children between grades 2-12 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite from a list of ten nominated titles. There are four divisions: elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school. For more information visit https://www.nutmegaward.org/about.
