The best aspect of KO is definitely the teachers’ willingness to help you. But, it’s also their drive to become closer with you and know you not only as a student but also as a person. I feel that this is important because since they know you so well, they understand how they can support you, what is beneficial to your learning, and your understanding of the material. If they really know you as a person, they are able to be more helpful.

All the KO teachers are willing to meet with you when you need help. My history teacher definitely has had a major impact on me because he really pushes me and forces me to think. He’s also very great at giving me guidance when I need it. I was struggling in math and the teacher opened his schedule to sit down with me and go over the material. After doing poorly on a test, I knew that I had to go meet with the teacher individually and make more consistent meetings to ensure that I understood everything that I needed to know. I wanted to show him the work that I was putting in so that when I receive a grade back that wasn’t stellar, he knows that I should have done better.
