Anissa

At KO, I’ve learned that I can push myself way farther than I ever thought, whether that’s in academics or stepping out of my comfort zone in extracurriculars such as music, arts, and even sports. I never thought that I would compete in track. I never thought I would be on a swim team. I’ve been able to explore a whole new me.

Our motto, “one conquers by conquering oneself,” means a lot to me. As a freshman, I didn’t push myself enough to join sports or clubs. But, by sophomore year, I tried to pursue things I never thought I would do. I even danced on stage! I’m in ten clubs now, and I’m the leader of the Business Club, which is crazy to me. After stepping out of my comfort zone, I realized I could do much more than I thought I could. I realized I’m bigger than my fears and insecurities.
