On so many occasions, the role of an archivist is to be a detective, searching for information to solve mysteries, and in my case, mysteries concerning the school’s history.

KO is so very fortunate to have the extensive collection that it does have, but some mysteries may never be solved. With the help and support of our amazing alumni, perhaps they will be? In upcoming publications of Wyvern Tales, I hope to reach out for help in my search for answers.

So, here we go! The following artifact has been in archives for some time; however, there is no history as to why or when it came to be. It is made of leather, and there are student signatures, along with class years. The years range from 1929-1933. There are also female names-Bettie, Barbara, Lois, Dorothy ‘31, and Mary ‘32. Checking the Oxford yearbooks for ‘31 and ‘32, no names correspond to the ones on the artifact.

This one goes way back, but I am hopeful that there is a story out there waiting to be told! A prize awaits the first person who can solve this mystery! Please email me at [email protected]
