  • Susan Emery

    Director of Enrollment

    Susan started her career as a teacher of English as a foreign language at a private school in Taiwan. She went on to start an independent educational consulting business, where she guided students from China and Taiwan through the application process for boarding schools, undergraduate colleges and graduate programs in the United States. After obtaining her doctorate in education, she helped establish a new boarding school in downtown Los Angeles where she was responsible for recruiting students from around the world.

  • Rebecca Benavides

    Senior Associate Director of Admissions

    Rebecca joined the Kingswood Oxford Admissions team in July 2007. She began her admissions experience as a college student, volunteering in the Office of Admission at her alma mater, The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio where she earned a B.A. in Sociology and was a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team. After graduation, she joined the admissions team at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT where she served as Assistant Director of Admission for five years, coached lacrosse and advised students. Rebecca found her home at Kingswood Oxford shortly thereafter where she currently serves as Senior Associate Director of Admissions. Other interests include coaching town lacrosse and field hockey, skiing, cooking and traveling. Rebecca has lived in eight towns among four states and some of her fondest memories were the llamas her family raised for six years. She lives with her husband and their two children here in West Hartford.

  • Meredith Crowther

    Middle School Tennis

    Meredith spent the early part of her career in recruiting and human resources, focusing on establishing and cultivating strategic business partnership roles within communities. In working in KO’s Admissions, she said, “I enjoy building relationships with our community of parents: prospective, current and past, our alumni, and our students." She also coaches the Middle School field hockey and tennis teams.

  • James (JB) Wells

    Assistant Director of Admission & Advancement

    Wells has 27 years of experience as a coach and an administrator at some of the leading academic institutions in the country, including Brown University, Trinity College, Bates College, and the University of Chicago. As the first football coach at Endicott College from 2001-2014, he created a culture of success under which Endicott flourished into one of the top teams in the Northeast. Prior to KO, JB Wells was the head football coach for the Bowdoin College Polar Bears for three seasons where he was responsible for the total administration of the football program, including coaching, recruiting, staff and roster management.

    In addition to leading KO’s football program, Wells will serve as assistant director of admissions and advancement, supporting the Office of Admissions and the Office of Advancement in various recruitment, retention, and philanthropic efforts. He will draw from his experience working in admissions at the college level and serve as a liaison between athletics and various administrative offices on campus.

  • Michelle Kollen

    Associate Director of Admissions
    International Coordinator

    Michelle has over 15 years of experience at the collegiate level, working both in the field of admissions of international students as well as with domestic college students wishing to study abroad, with tenures at varied institutions throughout the U.S., such as St. Joseph’s University, (PA), Indiana University, Trinity College (CT) and Goodwin College. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and a master’s degree in college personnel and higher education administration from Indiana University. Learning a foreign language to fluency as an adult and living internationally for nine years has fostered an understanding for Michelle of the international students and families she strives to support. Michelle enjoys skiing, hiking and reading when not in the office. She lives with her husband and three boys in West Hartford for almost ten years now – the longest place she has ever resided!

  • Holly Westfall

    Administrative Assistant

    Holly has been in education for over 20 years, 16 of which were in admissions. She graduated from UConn's College of Agriculture & Natural Resources, where she majored in Agricultural Economics with a specialty in Agricultural Business. She worked in the animal healthcare industry for several years before joining Trinity College. She joined the KO admissions team in October of 2016. In her spare time, she enjoying hiking and antiquing with her husband, hanging out at the barn and horse showing with my daughter, kayaking with her son, and playing with the family's German Shepherd.
