Kingswood Oxford Varsity baseball got back on track with a 5-1 win over Hamden Hall on Thursday May 6.

Sophomore pitcher Devin Wolff (‘23) looked sharp once again, pitching six scoreless innings while striking out four.  Senior captain Mike Demio (‘21) lead the offense going 3-3 with 2 RBI as Kingswood rolled over Hamden Hall 5-1.
The Wyverns scored all five of their runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Mac Louis (‘23) lead off the inning with a walk, Christian Pedro (‘22) followed with a single to right, and  freshman Adam Merritt (‘24) drove a double to right center scoring Louis to make it 1-0.  After a passed ball allowing Pedro to score to make it 2-0, Mitch Autorino was hit by the pitch, and Senior captain Sam Smith (‘21) roped a sharp single to left, driving in the Wyverns third run of the inning. That set the stage for the left handed power hitter Mike Demio. With Sam Smith on first, Demio crushed a 2-0 fastball deep to right center field, eventually landing in the back yard of Kingswood Oxfords’ head of school, Tom Dillow. That completed the scoring in the second inning, and it’s all the Wyverns would need as they went on to a 5-1 victory.
