Varsity baseball traveled to Hotchkiss and won 11-9.
KO built a 9-0 lead in the first 3 innings, scoring 4 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, and 3 in the 3rd. The Wyvern bats cooled off and Hotchkiss started chipping away at the lead scoring 1 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th, 4 in the 5th and finally tying the game with 3 in the 6th. With the score tied 9-9 in the 9th inning Mark Place ’18 doubled and Tim Cotter ’20 doubled him home to give the Wyvers the lead. Wes Pierce ’20 pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief for the win, and Cotter pitched a scoreless 9th to get the save.
