On February 3rd, the Kingswood Oxford Boys Basketball team faced off against Choate in an intense battle that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer. While the Wyverns fought valiantly, they narrowly fell short with a final score of 60 to 63. Despite the outcome, the game was a showcase of the team’s resilience, determination, and standout individual performances.

Dominance on the Boards
Chuck Hare led the team as the Best Rebounder with an impressive 11 rebounds, while Strykland contributed 10 rebounds. Their efforts in controlling the boards and securing crucial possessions were crucial in keeping the game competitive.

Scoring Leaders
DJ Biggins led the scoring charge with an outstanding 20 points, followed closely by Chuck Hare with 13 points and Strykland with 12 points. Declan Griffiths also contributed 9 points, highlighting the Wyverns’ balanced scoring attack.

Clutch Performance
Travis Parsons showcased nerves of steel in a crucial moment, sinking two key free throws late in the game. Despite confusion from the referees allowing the opposing coach to pick a shooter, Parsons seized the opportunity and made them pay, delivering two beautiful shots that kept the Wyverns in contention until the very end.

Playmaking Skills
Chuck Hare led the team in assists with 4, demonstrating his playmaking ability and vision on the court. The Wyverns’ ball movement and unselfish play were evident throughout the game, creating scoring opportunities for their teammates.
