Basketball – Girls MS A vs Foote School – Away
MS A Girls Basketball
KO lost to the Foote school 35-26 in overtime.
The team should be proud of its performance, as it fought tooth-and-nail to stay competitive with a much bigger team. Tenacious defense to start the game allowed KO to run the fast-break and jump out to an early 18-4 lead. However, Foote clawed its way back by implementing a tough zone defense, getting to within 8 points by halftime and eventually tying the game with minutes to go. On the last possession, Emily Knowles ’25 hit a would-be game-winning buzzer beater, but time had expired. In overtime, Foote was able to win mainly by making 7 of 8 foul shots. Though KO lost the game, there were many successes and positive takeaways. Alex Arnold ’23 and Quin Kearney ’23 gave every ounce they had to defend and out-rebound much taller opponents. Jordan DiMauro ’23 left everything she had on the court, fighting for loose balls and diving on the floor at every turn. Even with a tough loss, everyone on the team kept her composure and supported each other throughout the game, which says a lot about their character and team spirit. KO looks to come back with a win against Renbrook next Wednesday.
