Girls MS A Basketball

In their final home game and Form 2 recognition day the Girls MS A basketball team beat Hopkins school by a score of 45-23.

The KO girls jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back. Hopkins did pull within 4 in the first half, but KO extended the lead back to 10 before halftime. KO’s strong defense kept Hopkins from scoring for several minutes in the second half and fastbreak baskets built the lead up quickly. All 11 girls played and made contributions to our winning effort with nine players contributing to the score. Natalia Correa ‘22 and Caroline Dawson ‘22 lead all scorers with 19 and 10 points, respectively while Kyra Dunnirvine ‘23 added 4 points. Hallie Braunstein ‘23 scored her first basket of the season on a jump shot in the first half. Defensively, Katherine Doar ‘22 and Kyra Dunnirvine ‘23 played aggressive defense tying up the ball multiple times and Caroline Dawson ‘22 made a few nice steals. Quinn Kearney ‘23 and Nora Eckert ‘22 grabbed several defensive rebounds and Lindsay Bailey ‘22 had 4 blocks. The girls are looking forward to their final game on Wednesday 2/ 21 at Hamden Hall.
