The Wyverns kicked off the season on the road against Class A opponent, Taft School. In a tight matchup, the Wyverns fell short by 3 points against their talented foe. Led by senior captain Sam Gonzalez (13 points) and freshman Dalila Malz (10 points and 17 rebounds) and the leadership of sophomore point guard Eden Gonzalez.
