Football – Boys JV vs Choate Rosemary Hall – Home

The Kingswood Oxford JV Football team took on the Choate Rosemary Hall Wild Boars on a gorgeous fall afternoon on the Hoffman Turf Field.  It was all Choate in the first quarter scoring on their first 2 possessions to take the early lead. The Wyvern offense caught fire with a fantastic play action pass by Jordan Cipriano ’26, to Xavier Hernandez-Newton ’27, for 55 yards getting down to the Choate 18 yard line, made possible by great edge blocking by Colton Zahner ’27. However, the drive stalled there, leaving the Wyverns scoreless at half.  Choate continued to roll offensively and got up 29-0 late in the game. Jackson Poulin ’26 was tough all day for us at Middle Linebacker and made some tremendous solo tackles during the game. Connor Malinoski ’27 was also strong defensively, gathering 2 TFL on the day.  The Wyvern offense had one more big play in them when Cipriano hit Hernandez-Newton for a 70 yard TD bomb. Hernandez-Newton had some fantastic moves and run after the catch to get the ball down to the 3 yard line. Credit to Colton Bowes ’27 who executed a great fake that set up the big play.  From there the Wyverns got the ball down to the 1 yard line with tough running by John Sokale ’27. On a 4th down play Cipriano to Hernandez-Newton connection continued and the Wyverns scored a great TD on a nice catch and throw. The Wyverns will look to grow from this game and look forward to hosting Wilbraham Monson for another game on the Hoffman Turf Field 10/18 4:30 pm scheduled kickoff.
