Football – Boys JV vs Brunswick School – Away

JV Football Loses at Brunswick

The JV Wyverns traveled down to Greenwich, CT to play the talented Brunswick team on a warm, muggy fall afternoon. After trading defensive stops to open the game the Wyverns opened the scoring when Nico Pizzoferrato ’30 took a QB sweep right for 87 yards for the opening TD leading 6-0. However, that was the last time the Wyverns found the endzone. Credit to the Brunswick defense, forcing 5 turnovers including a fumble for TD. Brunswick leading 14-6 the Wyverns got all the way down the 2 yard line after great tough running by Jack Ouellette ’30. However, final play of the half the Wyverns were unable to score. Down 14-6 the Wyverns missed on a few opportunities and the game concluded with one more score for Brunswick 21-6. Overall, the Wyverns battled hard all day. Defensively strong performances by Skyler Freeman ’30 (3 tackles and a great pass defensed on 4th down at the goaline), Jack Ouellette ’30 ( 4 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 QB hurry and great INT in the endzone) and AJ Walker ’30 ( INT, 4 tackles and 4 Pass defensed) helped the Wyverns stay close all day.

The JV team now 2-1 on the season will look to a rematch with Cheshire Academy on Monday October 26th at 4:30 pm at Home.
