JV Football

On Wednesday October 8th our JV Football team hosted the Brunswick School on a perfect fall afternoon. The Wyverns, much like last week, were strong all day, leading the contest from start to finish. The scoring began on the 2nd offensive drive marching down the field in 2 plays, capped off by a great 46 yard touchdown run by Ryan Browning ’29. Brunswick was able to return the favor to close the gap to 8-6. On the 2pt play Carson Patrei ’29, stepped in front of a pass and took it back 104 yards for the 2 pt conversion TD. KO, now on top 10-6, the Wyverns never looked back, scoring 2 more times extending the lead to 24-6 late in the 2nd half. Credit to the Brunswick team who hung in there scoring right before half to make the game 24-12. The run game proved too strong as Browning ’29, Joe Small ’27 and Brady Powell ’28 continued to rack up yards on the ground and move the ball in big chunks. Over 250 yards rushing on the day is also a huge credit to the offensive line of Jack Martin ’29, Ashton Binalla ’27, Connor Malinoski ’27, Julian Jubrey ’29 and Amir Waterman ’28 . The final score 32-18 the Wyverns now 2-0 on the season will look to continue their winning ways, at home, next Wednesday 10/15 vs the Taft School 3:00 pm kickoff.
