Football – Boys JV vs Canterbury School – Away

Win 33-0

The Kingswood Oxford JV football team traveled to New Milford, CT to take on the Canterbury School Saints on an unusually warm October fall day.  The Wyverns like the weather were hot all day, dominating play from start to finish.  The defense started the game creating a turnover with a great tackle and forced fumble by Colton Zahner ’27, and recovery by Ashton Binalla ’27.  From there the offense needed just 3 plays to score on a screen pass from Jordan Cipriano ’26 to Xavier Hernandez-Newton ’27 from 10 yards out.  Cipriano to Hernandez-Newton was a common theme of the day as they connected for 5 TDs, 10 yards, 15 yards, 14, yards, 16 yards, and 46 yards. The Defense was stout all day only allowing 97 yards of total offense on the day. John Sokale ’27 led the way with 7 tackles and Jackson Poulin ’26, was excellent as well, collecting 6 tackles and with the leader of the defense providing excellent communication. Offensively the wyverns scored 5 TDs on 5 offensive possessions on the day. The Offensive line of Aryan Dange ’25, Teddy Ristaino ’28, Jackson Poulin ’26, Ashton Binalla ’27 and Max Huang ’25, were excellent all day in run and pass blocking. The JV team will look to build off this momentum when they host Choate next week Wednesday 10/11 at Hoffman Turf Field, 330pm kickoff.
