Football – Boys MS vs Hopkins School – Home

MS Football

Kingswood Oxford MS Football hosted the Hopkins Hilltoppers in middle school football 10/3/2018 . The rivalry between the schools dates back to 1925 and is one of the oldest football match ups in the state. This was also the Wyverns first action of the season and for many the first time they have ever played the sport of football.
The Wyvern’s proved they could work together to have success running and passing the ball to put points on the board. QB Devin Wolff had several completions including a long touchdown pass to first year player WR Ben Stengal and another long throw to first year TE Brady Nichols. The offensive line of Patrick Kinney, Ethan Shames, Jack Gold, Pierce Flynn and James Livingstone performed solidly and allowed running back John Decker to put on a show scoring and rushing for strong yardage.
The action came down to the Wyvern’s trying to hang on to a sixteen to twelve lead as the Hopkins team slowly drove the length of the field. The KO squad showed great tenacity in stopping Hopkins at the three yard line as many KO players kept the Hopkins running back out of the end zone to win the game.
