Win 41-24

The Kingswood Oxford Football team traveled to Albany, NY on a beautiful fall afternoon to play the Albany Academy Cadets. The Wyverns offense had a well run opening drive scoring on a great 8 yard TD run by Justin Morle ’26. The drive was propelled by multiple 4th down catches by DJ Biggins ’26 to extend the drive. Albany then seized momentum with a long 18 play TD drive of their own and a huge 85 yard punt return TD to make the score 12-7 midway through the 2nd quarter. However, the Wyverns like all season showed no quit and had a great bounce back drive scoring on a 4th down play. Stephen Bailey ’25, threw a fantastic ball to Rhandyn Bair ’24 for a 25 yard TD to go into the half 14-12.  In the 2nd half the KO defense started to thrive creating two massive turnovers. First Morle with an excellent strip sack, and Julian Przecioska ’25 recovering the ball. Second, Christian Gordon ’25 with a phenomenal INT along the sideline to keep the momentum with KO. Bair then took over the game when an electric 78 yard punt return TD and a 39 yard TD catch and run to put the Wyverns up 27-12.  The teams then exchanged scores the rest of the way with KO punching it in late in the 4th to go up 41-24 and seal the victory.  KO now 3-4 will have a restful bye week and then look to try and even their record at 4-4 when they travel to New Hampshire to take on the New Hampton School. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday 11/11/23 at 4:30 pm.
