Varsity Football

The Varsity Football team made a long drive to Hebron, Maine worth it on Oct. 6, defeating the
Hebron Academy Lumberjacks 47-0. Sam Capodice ’20 had an incredibly efficient day,
completing 3-4 passes for 108 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jeffrey Davis ’21 caught a screen pass
on the five yard line and muscled his way into the end zone for the first touchdown of the
game. Davis quickly followed with his second touchdown of the game two drives later, flying
past the Hebron defensive backs on a deep ball from Capodice for the long score. Kyren
Petteway ’19 reeled in an incredibly acrobatic touchdown catch over two Hebron defenders,
followed by long rushing touchdowns from the two-headed ground monster of Justin Edwards
’21 and Winston Ware ’20, rounding out the first half scoring at 35-0. Coltrane Joseph ’19 and
Jaden Lovelace ’20 each had tough rushing touchdowns in the second half, bringing the
Wyverns to their final score of 47. The entire KO defense combined to secure the first shut-out
of the season. Sam Smith ’21, Josh Leshem ’19, Elijah Infante ’21, and Ethan Miner ’19 made
big tackles in the Lumberjack backfield, forcing them into many three-and-out drives. Mike
DeMio ’21 forced the only turnover of the day for the Wyvern defense, a 4 th quarter fumble
recovered by Adam Paszczuk ’21. The boys’ have an enormous homecoming game on Hewett
Day against Berkshire Academy.
