Football – Boys Varsity vs Hill School, The – Home
KO Football Stays Undefeated with Win on Hewett Day
The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns hosted the Hill school for the first matchup in history between the 2 schools on a cool fall afternoon. Both defenses started forcing turnover on downs to start the game. The Wyvern offense found a rhythm late in the 1st quarter. This culminated in the first points of the game, on a great screen play to Isley Biggins ’28, who ran it in for a 28 yard opening score. Up 7-0 the Wyverns never looked back. An avalanche of big plays, scoring on the next 4 possessions, (59 yard TD score by Xavier Hernandez-Newton ’28, 84 and 62 yard scores by Carson Patrei ’29 and 2 yard incredible catch over a defender by Chance Markovitz ’29), the Wyverns put the game out of reach early leading at the half 40-8. Credit to Hill despite being down big fought hard to the very end. Defensively the Wyverns were strong forcing 3 turnovers on downs and 4 turnovers on the day, highlighted by Noah Patrei ’27 accounting for 13 tackles, 4 TFL and a sack on the day, 2 INT by Carson Patrei ’29 . Late in the game an incredible play to finish defensively by Jack Ouellette ’30 who hit a WR while catching the ball making the ball pop into the air. Then, Nico Pizzoferrato ’30 was able to secure the INT and return it to finish the game. Offensively Justin Ocasio ’27 led the offense with his best day as a QB for the Wyverns throwing for over 400 yard and 6 TD, an incredible feat!
