The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns played host to the Class C Championship Game vs the Rivers School on a beautiful late fall afternoon. After a scoreless back and forth first quarter, Jordan Cipriano ’26 opened the scoring with a 27 yard FG to give KO the lead 3-0 early 2nd quarter. KO then had 2 fumbles on special teams, giving Rivers great field position. Rivers was able to capitalize on the momentum and scored twice leading at the break 14-3. KO like all year showed no quit and continued to fight. Defensively allowing  only 114 yards on the day, lead by Noah Patrei ’27 with 12 tackles and 3 TFL, the Rivers team was unable to score for the remainder of the game. The Offense then started to get in rhythm late second half. Moving the ball late in the 4th quarter. Justin Ocasio ’27 hitting Xavier Hernandez-Newton ’27 consistently, Hernandez-Newton ’27 finished the day with 12 rec 110 yards and 1 TD. Ocasio then found him in the endzone with 1 minute to go. Justin Morle ’26 then continued the momentum in KO favor scoring on a 2pt run to make the score 14-11. With all hanging in the balance of an onside kick the wyverns were unable to recover sealing the game to Rivers.  Overall it was a season to be very proud of as the wyverns finish 8-2 their highest win total since 2015.
