Kingswood Oxford put together a hard-fought performance against Rocky Hill Country Day, ultimately falling 13-14 in overtime in a game that tested both teams’ toughness and resilience. Battling through difficult conditions on a wet grass field, the team showed determination and grit from start to finish.
The game remained tightly contested throughout, with both teams trading momentum and neither side able to pull away for long. Heading into the fourth quarter, Kingswood Oxford found itself down three goals but responded with composure and urgency, battling back to even the score and force overtime. The team nearly completed the comeback in dramatic fashion, generating a quality look with just 12 seconds remaining in regulation that narrowly missed, underscoring just how close the game was to ending in our favor.
There were several standout efforts across the field. Freshman Matty Towne continues to impress with his relentless work rate, consistently competing and setting the tone with his effort. At FOGO, Dalton Smith delivered another strong performance, giving Kingswood Oxford key possessions throughout the game. Defensively, Travis Parsons and Jake Say made their presence felt with physical play and timely checks, while Nico Seymour anchored the midfield unit, providing stability and energy on both ends. Gabe Wynner nearly delivered the game-winning goal late in regulation, and his strong presence on attack continues to be a major asset for the team.
While it’s a tough result—especially coming so close to securing the win—the game serves as an important learning experience. The group showed what it’s capable of when playing with focus and effort, and those takeaways will be valuable moving forward.
