Varsity Girls Lacrosse

The girls varsity lacrosse celebrated their Senior Night on Friday playing against what always proves to be a very physical and emotional game vs Westminster.

While the Wyverns got off to a hot start pushing the score to 7-2. The Martlets won the next 6 draws and used the fats break to get back into the game going up 8-7 with 3 seconds to play in the half. In the second half, the Wyverns had a harder time breaking down the Westy defense, eventually losing 15-10. A couple of late goals were scored because the Wyvern defense had to take chances as the Martlets were running down the clock helping them put the game out of reach. Julia Lantieri ’18 scored 5 goals and in doing so broke the single season scoring record pushing her total to 77 goals. Maitland Bailey ’18 scored 2 goals, Abby Eberle ’18 scored 1 goal but had 4 assists pushing her total assist number to 57 for the season. Haley Carangelo ’18 had 1 goal and 3 assists. Nicole Genga ’19 had 1 goal. Amelia Levine ’20 made 9 saves in the cage.
