Soccer – Girls JV vs Choate Rosemary Hall – Away
JV Girls Soccer
With a short roster, KO headed to Choate Rosemary for a tough matchup.
Despite heading to Choate missing two starting middies home with the flu and losing two starting defenders during the first half of the game, the Wyverns banded together to get a great 3-1 win on the road Wednesday. After pressuring the home teams goal area early but not converting the game turned into a back and forth contest as both sides settled in, however Natalia Correa ’22 scored on a breakaway from a Remy McCoy ’20 through ball in the 35 minute of the first half for the Wyverns to take 1-0 lead at the half. Choate countered with a goal of their own mid way through the second half as the Wyverns started to tire. Jane Dunbar ’19 scored in the 14th minute from a direct kick from about 25 yards out from the goal for Wyverns to go up 2-1 and Natalia Correa sealed the win off a breakaway pass from Alessia Caruso ’19 in the last two minutes. Maeve McDonald ’19 had a strong day in the net making 13 saves on the day as the Wyverns push their record to 6-0.
