Soccer – Girls JV vs Pomfret School – Away
JV Girls Soccer
On Saturday afternoon, the girls JV soccer team traveled to Pomfret for a 2pm kickoff.
Despite missing two strong players, the Wyverns were ready to get back at it after playing the night before. While the Wyverns dominated the play, only allowing the Pomfret girls a few ventures over the midfield line scoring eluded the girls until Molly Jones ’20 scored off a cross by Hallie Braunstein ’23, Tess Chapman ’23 scored moments later and Natalia Correa ’22 scored of a cross by Noelle Wilkes ’23 just before the half for the Wyverns to take a 3-0 lead into the half. The second half again was dominate by the Wyverns as Noelle Wilkes scored from her left back position by dribbling by opponents on the left wing and beating the goalie at the near corner of the goal. Amelia Levine ’20, Annabelle Jacobs ’23 and Gk Cai Kuivila ’20 playing out of the net for the last two minutes scored to put the Wyverns up 7-0.
The girls are now 6-2 on the season and look forward to a tough week as they host Choate on Wednesday and Westminster on Saturday at home.
