Soccer – Girls Varsity vs Cheshire Academy – Home
Girls Varsity Soccer
The KO girls faced a good Cheshire Academy team at home with the hope of breaking their 2 game losing streak. KO came out strongly drawing first blood as Serena Zhou found Olivia Adamowicz at the far post giving the team a 1-0 goal. Despite multiple opportunities at goal, KO could not add to their lead. Cheshire Academy was able to tie the score toward the end of the first half, creating a 1-1 tie heading into halftime. KO started the second half controlling play but was unable to take the lead. Taylor Caldwell, Giuliana Fuzzard, Gianna Guerrera, Ari Salek, and GK Lizzie Raccio played well in back and were able to keep the score 1-1 until midway through the second half. Cheshire Academy was able to take the lead off a counter attack but KO remained undaunted controlling play and taking shot after shot. Unfortunately, KO was unable to secure the tying goal, falling to Cheshire 2-1. The effort of the girls was outstanding including Loren Roca, Mackenzie Cahill, Naya DeMelo, Naomi Diffenderfer, Nadia Silmon, and Eliana Beakal.
