KO Falls to Miss Porter’s

The KO girls went up against Class A NEPSAC defending champions Miss Porter’s in a Founders League match today. KO came out defending well, matching the physicality of the much bigger Porter’s team while also wrestling some possession away from them. With 15 minutes left in the first half, Porters finally broke through when KO could not fully clear the ball. Porter’s was able to tack on another goal just prior to halftime to carry a 2-0 lead into the second half. KO was able to maintain some possession at the beginning of the half but was unable to cut the lead in half despite strong play from the attack including Ali Hogan, Olivia Adamowicz, Nadia Silmon, Maliyah Douglas and Naya DeMelo. Unfortunately, injuries and fatigue took its toll on KO as the half progressed. Porters was able to add to the lead ending with a 6-0 win. The score was not indicative on the totality of the game as KO put up a good fight most of the game but could not overcome the size and athleticism of NEPSAC’s top Class A team. Mackemzie Cahill, Analeigh Sayesith, Giulina Fuzzard, Gianna Guerrera, and Ari Salek were excellent in back as they had to defend most of the game. Goalkeepers Lizzie Raccio and Penelope Ahern combined for 9 saves, making some outstanding stops during the game. KO next plays at Williston on Saturday.
