Squash – Boys JV vs. Greens Farms Academy – Away

Three years ago we played finals with Green Farms Academy in New England championship at Westminster. KO won the championship.
At that time they were a young team. Right now they’re highly rated in the high school nationals. This year they will be playing in group 2 and KO Varsity team will be playing in group 6. It was a good experience for the boys to prepare for the coming up New England tournaments on the weekend. The teams performed very good despite the ratings. Jack Krieble held the number one seed in the second game, the score was 11/8. Then he went to lose the third game 11/6 and he lost the match 3/0. The Varsity team lost 7-0.
In the beginning of the match, we did a huge lineup including KO JV team as well. JV saved the day by beating Green Farms Academy 4-3.
The opening match was with Hunter Anastasia, starting with the 3/0 victory 11/2, 11/2, 11,6,
followed by another win from Cary Duvall 11/7, 11/6, 11/4. Cary won most of his points by pushing his opponent from the back court, which gave him an opportunity to attack the front court.
At this point, Saahit Gaddipati gave KO a lead after winning at number four position 11/4, 11/3, 11/8. Saahit kept on applying more pressure on his opponent by volleying the ball aggressively. At this point JV team was up by three. Greens Farms Academy came back and won the next three so the games were tied 3/0.
At this point, the games were tied 3-3. KO’s number seven position Samir Patel played the deciding game. Samir was down 1-2 then he came up to tie the game two all by winning in the fourth game 11/8. The fifth game he started very strong leading 5/0 not giving his opponent a chance to come back in the game. When Samir was leading 9/2 in the fifth game all the JV players were celebrating. He ended up closing to Match 11/2 which the JV team a win.
The bus ride to Greens Farms Academy is one hour 20 minutes. But it felt short on the way back because the boys were singing songs, and clapping hands. Basile took over the DJ and all the boys were requesting songs. The trip felt very short with all the excitement the team had.
