Squash – Girls Varsity vs Choate Rosemary Hall – Home

Varsity Girls Squash

The KO Girls Varsity Squash team was excited to have our first home match of the season, breaking in the newly added courts at 18 Highland Street in style. It was a well played contest against Choate Rosemary Hall, with the Wyverns losing 7-0 against a strong opponent. In the no. 7 spot, Vysh Setru ’30 had better and better reads of the serve to hit powerful drives to pressure her opponent. In the no. 6. spot, Nina Mattamana ’30 prioritize strategic control of the points, moving her opponent to opposite corners before going in for the put-away shot. In the no. 2 spot, Clara Toomey ’27 used sweeping cross court drives to trap her opponent in the back corners and followed up with deftly executed drop shots. The show-stopping moment of the match was the no. 1 match where Valerie Perkins ’29 was playing patient, precise four-corner squash in front of a big crowd of teammates, families, fans, and players from the Middle School team. It was an amazing way to end our first team match on the new courts, and we’re looking forward to many more! Let’s go, KOSQ!
