The KO Girls Varsity Squash team made our way to Greens Farms Academy for a solid match against the depth of GFA’s team, losing 6-1 after a strong outing. In the no. 1 spot, Valerie Perkins ’29 was hitting straight drives glued to the side walls and following up with well placed volleys to cut the opponent’s time in half, maintaining her focus to come out on top in close points to win 3-1. In the no. 5 spot, Racheal Segal ’28 was taking advantage of loose shots and carefully sending them to the back corners, reading her opponent’s shot selection for great defensive court coverage. In the no. 8 spot, Ava Patel ’28 was connecting effectively on her volley returns and using the front and back of the court to stretch her opponent’s coverage and take control of points. In the no. 10 spot, Riya Sekaran ’28 showcased her technique on backhand and forehand drives, amping up the pace to put pressure on each point. In the no. 11 spot, Noa Taback ’28 had one of the great performances of the team match, using high, soaring shots to move her opponent to the back of the court and standing ready on the T to put the next shot away.
