Squash – Girls Varsity vs Hotchkiss School – Away
Varsity Girls Squash
The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had our first match away at Hotchkiss, playing a strong team but putting in a good performance to start the season off moving forward. Co-captains Sanya Sadiq ’26 and Lia Prahl ’26 were ready to attack on their volley returns and move into offense from the get-go in the no. 2 and 3 spots. In their debut varsity matches, Nina Mattamana ’30 and Vyshnavi Setru ’30 were careful in their shot selection to put pressure on their opponents from all areas of the court in the no. 4 and 5 spots. Racheal Segal ’28 built more and more momentum with her rocketed serves and precise backhand drives for a hard fought battle in the no. 7 spot. In the no. 1 spot, Valerie Perkins ’29 showed the team perseverance and quick thinking on her feet in a match full of beautifully constructed points from both players. It was a good start to our few matches in this last part of the calendar year and we’re looking forward to really digging into the season!
