Squash – Girls Varsity vs Kent School – Home
Varsity Girls Squash
The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had a tough 7-0 loss against Kent, with some great squash played up and down the ladder against a solid opponent. Playing in the no. 1 position for the day, Clara Toomey ’27 showed precise touch on her volley attacks in drawn out points that tested each player’s strategic choices. In the no. 2 and 3 positions, co-captains Sanya Sadiq ’26 and Lia Prahl ’26 were ready to put pressure on the opponent with their serves and returns, using height and pace to clear the T and take charge of points. Nina Mattamana ’30 had an incredibly close battle in the no. 5 position, sending the ball down the side walls with devastating precision only to follow up with low kills and drop shots in the front of the court, only narrowly losing 3-2. Vysh Setru ’30 took control of points with sweeping drives to the back of the court in the no. 6 spot, forcing her opponent to use all four corners to respond. In the no. 8 position, Aliza Rashid ’27 was serving and volleying effectively, using more and more of the skill work she has put in during our practices to extend points and capitalize on loose shots from the opponent. Let’s go, KOSQ!
