Squash – Girls Varsity vs Loomis Chaffee School – Away

Girls Varsity Squash

The KO Girls Varsity Squash team played a hard fought match against Loomis Chaffee in our last match of 2025, really taking it to the opponent despite losing 6-1. Playing up in the no. 1 spot for the day, co-captain Sanya Sadiq ‘26 was sending the ball to all four corners of the court with aggressive precision, and made the most of every time she took control of the “T”. In the no. 2 spot, Clara Toomey ‘27 had a 5-game battle that showcased her conversions from defensive court coverage to unretrievable attacks that either died in the back corners or gracefully hugged the side wall in the front corners. Co-captain Lia Prahl ‘26 was relentless with her drives to the back of the court and made sure that her opponent could never rest easy in the no. 3 spot, playing some of her best ever squash when it counted. In the no. 6 spot, Racheal Segal ‘28 stayed consistent and thorough with her volley returns to match and then overcome her opponent’s aggressive serves, and her patient strategy made the difference for a really impressive 3-2 win. In the no. 9 and 10 spots, Noa Taback ‘28 showcased her strong backhand as both an offensive and defensive tool, and Aliza Rashid ‘27 balanced crushed serves with thoughtful shot placement as she battled for control of the “T”. Against a very solid opponent, the team was more and more comfortable taking risks and digging into the long game of each point. We’re looking forward to getting right into our matches when we come back from winter break! Way to go, KOSQ!
