Squash – Girls Varsity vs Miss Porter’s School – Away

Varsity Girls Squash

The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had a great 4-3 win against Miss Porter’s, drawing from all parts of the ladder for a real team effort to pull off the win. With both teams missing some players in the usual lineups, the Wyverns had several players stepping up to take more difficult ladder positions, but their determination allowed the team to see the match through. In the no. 1 position, Valerie Perkins ’29 put on a masterclass of placement and control with devastating cross court drives and a readiness to pick off loose shots with precise volleys. In the no. 5 position, Vysh Setru ’30 was attacking on the serve and using height on the front wall to send her opponent running and to give herself time to reset in each point. In. the no. 6 position, Aliza Rashid ’27 was ready to redirect her opponent’s shots into the corners, finding particular success with her volleys that increased the pace of each point. In the no. 7 spot, Riya Sekaran ’28 was quick on her feet and putting pressure on her opponent with her quick and powerful backhands. In the no. 8 spot, Noa Taback ’28 moved through marathon points with careful usage of both the front and the back of the court, forcing wider court coverage from her opponent and finding much success in front of a big crowd. Let’s go, KOSQ!
