Squash – Girls Varsity vs Pomfret School – Home
Varsity Girls Squash
The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had a very close 4-3 loss to Pomfret that came down to just a few points in a thrilling showdown between our teams. In the no. 7 spot, Ava Patel ’28 was precise and punishing with her use of court sense to control points and flip defensive positions into offensive ones. In the no. 5 spot. Vysh Setru ’30 was relentless and determined in her volleying and court coverage, just narrowly missing out on a 3-2 win but inspiring the team with her grit. In the no. 1 spot, Valerie Perkins ’29 was deceptive with holds and varied attacks in the front of the court, managing to use her opponent’s anticipation as an advantage for a solid 3-1 win. In the no. 2 spot, Clara Toomey ’27 made sure she swept the ball around her opponent and endlessly guarded the T until it was the right moment to finish the points. In the no. 3 spot, co-captain Lia Prahl ’26 came back from being down 2-1 to level the match and then take the fifth and final game 12-10, combining patient, defensive drives with wildly effective low kills that she is now famous for. It was a great day of competition and we look forward to more of those in this last part of the season! Let’s go, KOSQ!
