The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had a fantastic performance in our last home match of the season, our Senior Day against Williston Northampton, where we celebrated the hard work and dedication of our seinor co-captains, Sanya Sadiq ’26 and Lia Prahl ’26. The Wyverns came ready to play some great squash up and down the ladder. In the no. 1 and 2 spots, Valerie Perkins ’29 and Clara Toomey ’27 were using height on the front wall and cleverly placed drops in the front of the court to force full court coverage from their opponents (3-0). In the no. 6 spot, Vysh Setru ’30 was clinical with her serve, hitting the side wall and starting off the point deep in the corner (3-0). In the no. 7 spot, Ava Patel ’28 fought hard each point and improved her accuracy bit by bit to take the third game into a thrilling tiebreak (0-3). In the no. 5 spot, Nina Mattamana ’30 held on in a close 5-game match, putting on the pressure in the final game with her excellent shot selection. We were there to celebrate our seniors, and they really showed their grit and skill as they played their final home matches for the team. In the no. 4 spot, co-captain Lia Prahl ’26 traded off spectacular, complicated points with her opponent, taking the match to 5 games and using her level-headed, attacking strategy to pull off the win (3-2). In the no. 3 spot, co-captain Sanya Sadiq ’26 was relentless in her use of deep drives, particularly cross courts, and her determination fueled her consistent, skillful play that got her the 3-1 win. What a way to celebrate our seniors, and what a team effort! Let’s go, KOSQ!
