JV Boys Tennis
The JV boys’ tennis team capped off the season in fine style with a domination of the courts up at Williston Northampton School.
On the singles ladder, Jaden Weinstein (’21) held off his opponent, despite a bad back, to win his match by a score of 8 games to 4. Andrew Holland (’19) held on as long as he could at #2, but he was not able to bring home the final points, losing by a score of 7 games to 8 in a very close tie breaker. In the #3 slot, Jacob Schwartz (’21) made short order of his opponent, winning by a wide margin of 8 games to 1. Drini Puka (’21) took control of the match, playing very smoothly, and he won his match at #4 by a score of 8 games to 4. At #5, Will Elliott (’21) steam rolled over his opponent to win 8 games to 0, and Michael Autorino (’19) did the same at #6, giving KO the match quickly.
On the doubles side, at #1, Schwartz and Holland took the match very easily by a score of 8-1, with Holland demonstrating some excellent net skills to control shot after shot. Jon Fu (’19) and James Ravalese (’20) won their #2 doubles match by a score of 8 games to 5, and in the final match, at #3 doubles, Anan Meraney (’20) and Ethan Raisner (’21) brought home another victory for the Wyverns with a score of 8 games to 3. The entire KO squad was very relaxed and confident in this match, and their maturity and confidence were evident to all of the spectators there. It was a difficult season of rebuilding after some significant injuries this spring, yet they rose to the occasion and had a great time. Well done, Wyverns!
