Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Cheshire Academy – Away

Varsity Boys Tennis

KO traveled to Cheshire to play a talented Cheshire squad.

KO lost a tightly contested doubles point, as the duo of Appleton and Riemann lost a very close 9-7 proset at #1 doubles, and at #2 doubles Adam Sonntag and Max William Kanz lost 8-4 in a match that was closer than the score indicated. Adam Na and Avi Shastri were up 8-7 at #3 when the match was pulled when Cheshire clinched the point.   Singles was also quite close, with Cheshire winning at #1, #3, #4, and #6. There were multiple injuries on both teams, as theCheshire trainer might got quite a workout. The lone KO singles wins were impressive efforts by William Appleton at #2  and Max William Kanz at #5. This is the second match in a row that we have lost that seemingly could have gone either way, and we came up short. The week ahead will present the challenge of playing Westminster, Avon Old Farms, and Hotchkiss. Certainly a big week ahead for the wyverns.
