Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Choate Rosemary Hall – Home

Varsity Boys Tennis

On Saturday, April 20th KO hosted Choate on a rainy day, forcing all of the matches indoors.

Both coaches agreed to play singles first, and if one team had clinched the match then we would forego doubles. The match was, as expected, very close and hard fought. Choate earned straight sets wins at #2 and # 5 singles, while KO earned straight sets wins at #1 (Luke Riemann ’19)  and #3, (Max-William Kanz. ’22). At #4 and #6, both matches went to third set supertiebreakers. Avis Shastri (’20) at #4 cam back to win the second set but succumbed to his opponent, who played an excellent tiebreaker. At # 6, Teddy Keegan played a fantastic first set, winning it in a tiebreaker, but his experienced opponent was patient and ultimately won the second set and the tiebreaker as well. It was a close, tough loss for KO, but we hope to rebound with a great effort vs. Hopkins on Wednesday, April. 24th at home.
