Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Loomis Chaffee School – Home

Varsity Boys Tennis

 We knew this was going to be a very close match, as the two teams match up almost evenly. The 5-2 score was much closer than it appears, as Loomis won a closely contested doubles point with an 8-6 win at #1 doubles after KO won 8-6 at #3 and Loomis won 8-4 at #2. Going into singles, we needed to win 4 matches. Pratt Blair and Neil Reddy earned straight set wins at #2 and #4 respectively to put KO up 2-1. However, Loomis countered with a closelyt contested straight sets wins at  #1 and #3 singles. Ciaran Concepcion played exceptionally well at #1 vs. a hard hitting opponent who fended off 3 set points in the 2nd set. At #5 and #6 singles, we lost supertiebreakers in matches that could have gone either way. As always, I was proud of our guys for their great effort and sportsmanship. There is no rest for the weary, as we travel tomorrow morning to take on a very talented and deep Choate squad for a noon match.
