Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Loomis Chaffee School – Home
Boys Varsity Tennis
KO faced a strong Loomis team, and we played well despite the absence of one player and another needing to retire during the match due to injury.
Highlights included a convincing win (6-2, 6-2) from Max-William Kanz (’22) at #1 singles, and another strong effort at #1 doubles from Kanz and teammate Teddy Keegan (’22), who won their match 8-4. Unfortunately, we were unable to earn another victory at #2 or #3 doubles, so Loomis earned the Doubles point, and then won at #2 thru #6 singles. The match of the day was from Pratt Blair (’26), who played his best match of the year against a solid, older opponent. The score (6-7, 6-4, 11-9) shows just how close it was, and it was a very well played match. All the more impressive is that Blair was playing up at #4 from his regular #5 spot due to a teammate’s absence. Our effort was there, and I am pleased with how the team battled from start to finish.
