Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Taft School – Away

Varsity Boys Tennis

On a late Tuesday afternoon, the boys V tennis team traveled to Watertown to take on Taft.

This looked like it would be a 4-3 type match, one way or the other. This proved to be the case. KO played strong doubles at #1 and #2 , earning the doubles point as Luke Riemann (’19) and Adam Sonntag (’19) won at #1 and Max-William Kanz (’22) and Teddy Keegan (’22) were impressive in their victory. Singles got underway, and KO earned a win at 3 with Max-William Kanz play well. Taft earned a win at #4  and then the rain came down before all the matches were completed. So we went inside to their fast paced field house courts. There were four matches left, and Adam Sonntag closed out his match at #2 singles in straight sets, playing his best tennis of the year.  KO’s Jaden Weinstein (’21) played very well despite being under the weather, but ultimately fell in a 3rd set tiebreaker at #6. Jacob Schwartz played well, too, but could not overcome his very tough opponent at #5. The match was all square at 3-3, and Luke Riemann was down a set. He battled back to win the 2nd set 7-5, and then gutted out a tough 3rd set super breaker by a score of 10-7 to cap off our most exciting match of the year. A great team win.
