Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Wooster School – Away
Boys Varsity Tennis
On Monday afternoon, we traveled to Danbury to take on a strong and balanced Wooster squad.
The final score was quite deceptive, as it could have been 5-2 the other way. An extremely close match at #2 doubles (8-6) provided the doubles point for KO, as KO won at #1 (8-3) and lost at #3 (8-6). With the exception of #1 (Max William Kanz ’22) 8-0 and # 2 singles (Teddy Keegan ’22) 8-2 , the singles matches were incredibly close. Due to the late start on a Monday, we played 8 game prosets. Wooster won 8-5 at # 4 and #5 singles, proving to be too consistent for Pratt Blair (’26) and Will Maclean (’25) respectively. At # 3, Ciaran Concepcion (’26) fought off 5 match points to earn a 9-7 victory. Will Jacobs (’23) continued his clutch play to earn an 8-6 victory at #6 singles, as his tough opponent saved three match points. We are next headed to New Haven on Wednesday to face an always strong Hopkins team.
