Varsity Boys’ Soccer vs Greenwich Country Day School – Home
V Boys Soccer
Varsity Boys Soccer played their first game on Saturday at home on Outlook field.
After graduating a lot of senior players last year, it was the teams first appearance with the newly established team. Despite the fact that we are the young team the boys started the game with high intensity and winning attitude. The first goal came in 7th minute by Grant Daigle (24) assisted by Ardit Zhuta (24). Changing the score board did not take more than 10 minutes. On minute 17th, Sam Cote (24) carried the ball from right side dribbled by two defenders and assisted to Jack Neikre (25) who placed the ball on the net with one touch over the opponents goalie. On minute 34 KO earned free kick, Kaden Rodriguez (25) crossed the ball into the back post where Sam Cote (24) jumped higher and placed the ball with a header in the upper net. The first half finished 3-0. The KO boys started the second half with same high intensity and scored a 4th goal by Senior Captain Max Sams (23) who dribbled the ball from his own defensive line to opponent’s field passed the two opponents and strike the ball from 35 yards to bottom corner of the net. Being young and getting tired at the end of the game KO boys could not keep the clean sheet. In minutes 85 and 87 GCDS scored 2 goals and the game ended as a 4-2 Win for KO.
