Varsity Football vs St. Luke’s School – Home

V Football

The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns hosted the St Luke’s Storm on a beautiful evening at Hoffman Turf Field under the lights.

The crowd was electric as a new season of KO football began. Jack Gold ’23 started the night with an incredible national anthem on his guitar. It was a hard fought battle throughout with St Lukes and KO alternating scoring the whole way. The scoring for KO started after a beautiful deep ball by Dom Dinuzzo ’24 to Dalton Grant ’23 who hauled in the TD catch between two different defensive players.  After trading scores Rhandyn Bair ’24 took a toss right and cut it back across the field making multiple defenders miss along the way for a TD score from 23 yards out, to cut the lead to 17-14.  After a big TD run by St Lukes, KO offense responded marching down the field in less than one minute deep into the 4th quarter, scoring on a TD strike from Dinuzzo ’24 to Bair ’24 from 20 yards out. After a failed onside kick the defense held strong. The offense was able to move the ball down to the St luke 20 yard line only to have time expire before getting the final play off. Defensively Nathan Bowes ’24 led the way with 11 tackles and 2 TFL, making great plays all over the field. Chief Ebana ’24 and Geordan Robertson ’23 were unstoppable up front amassing 5.5 tackles for a loss and 2 sacks between the two of them. It was a hard fought game and well earned by St. Lukes. Next Saturday the team travels to Reading, MA to play Austin Prep. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30pm.
