Varsity Volleyball vs Dexter Southfield School – Home
V Volleyball
It was a wonderful Senior Day for the varsity volleyball team, with a solid 3-0 win over Dexter Southfield to end the regular season.
It was a real team effort that showcased all of the time, energy, and love that our seniors and their families have put into the team and the sport over the last several years. Congratulations to our seniors!: Co-captains Keira Sullivan and Jill Plaut, Jhanvi Daddala, Quin Kearney, Eve Repp, and our manager Emily Evans.
The first set saw KO’s offense starting strong, with Plaut setting all of our front row hitters masterfully for kills on all fronts. Sullivan pulled KO out of an early tie with Dexter with her varied serving, and the team ran up the scoreboard from there. Repp had kills down the line on both ends of the net, and Daddala absolutely clobbered the ball for a kill down the middle. Allie Arcaro ‘24 did an excellent job of making sure that our serve receive passes set up Plaut for success, and Ava Cashman ‘24 was consistently firing hits from the outside to put pressure on the opponent. KO took the set 25-10.
The second set began with several expertly executed outside hits from Sullivan to put KO in the lead. In the middle, Lola Peck ‘26 was making great net decisions to rack up the points and find the holes in the opponent’s defense. Alex Segal ‘25 was a defensive powerhouse in the back row, producing high passes late in the game to keep the offense running. Kearney was aggressive and consistent as ever with her serving (so many timeouts called on her serve this season!), which helped seal the deal for KO 25-12 in the set.
In the third set, KO kept up the momentum and charged to victory. Cici Freeman ‘24 had excellent passing technique in the back row, and Plaut and Sullivan were putting on a clinic with their dynamic duo of setting and outside attacks. KO pulled ahead early and stayed ahead, winning the set 25-10.
We can’t end a recap of the match without celebrating our amazing manager, Emily, for all of the hard work she’s put into doing the book for our matches and supporting our team outside of matches. We’ve been very lucky to have her as a manager these past few years!
The Wyverns are looking forward to our Class B quarterfinal match at home on 11/16! Way to go, KOVB!
