Volleyball – Girls JV vs Canterbury School – Home

Win 3-0

In our final match of the season, KO JVVB “did it for Diya,” defeating Canterbury 3 – 0 (25-14, 25 – 9, 25 -13). In his pregame speech, Coach McDonald told the team to give senior Diya Mistri ‘ 24 an amazing last match to remember her time as a KO volleyball player. He told the team to “play like Diya,” to “channel their inner Diya.” “Mistri is one of the most positive and unshakable players I’ve ever had the pleasure of coaching,” he said. “If she is ever down, frustrated, or nervous, you’d never know it. She focuses on doing her job on the court and giving her best effort to her team.” Finally, he challenged them to “be an up-lifter like Diya.” And the team responded! Everyone contributed in some way to make the last match of the season, and for our senior, memorable. Strong serving from Danica Arwen De Dios ’27, Aleis Gonzales ‘ 27, Lidia Martinez Castro ’27 and Scarlett Bourgoin ’27 was a large part of the team’s success, as was Mistri’s offensive play in the middle. Defensively, the team covered the court well and had some great passes and amazing saves The team ends its season with an 8-4 record and thanks the families and fans who cheered us on!
